Co-Creating with AI

Exploring and Integrating Stable Diffusion Models in the Creative Process of Poster Design.

04    Co-creations

04 .01   Unrefined Designs
Using a basic typeface layout, an image generated from an image prompt, and the visual concept derived from a text prompt, these elements were combined to create a layout for a poster variant.

Tools used: Indesign, Photoshop and Stable Diffusion.

Using the previous design as an image prompt, new graphic images were generated.  A selection of these images was made and used for a new design.

Tools used: Indesign, Photoshop and personalised model.

Unsatisfied with the previous chaotic design, a new design was attempted by recycling the image into the models. Combining deferent images from different image outputs  this design was created.

Tools used: Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop and personalised model.

Here a simple and “light” design was made using a single  generated image. This was done by simply adding colour and placing the typography where the AI initially laid it out.

Tools used: Indesign, Photoshop, personalised model and inpaint.

For this design, the changed typography made by the AI, forming the title “Design between Human and Machine” was used. This was combined with the artistic elements from another graphic image.

Tools used: Photoshop and personalised model.

04 .02   Design Refinements
This poster design emerged from refining Design 2, which has a chaotic layout. It is created by refining the AI’s output and using a typeface that is similar to that of the generated image while trying to find a balance in the composition.

Tools used: Illustrator, Photoshop and personalised model.

This design is composed of artistic elements generated by the models, and is created by merging different outputs from the same image prompt. The short line pattern is intended to evoke the binary code of machines, while the artistic elements represent the human touch.

Tools used: Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, personalised model and inpaint.

In this design, vibrant colours and abstract paint splatters are used to create a dynamic visual effect. The fractured typography adds to the sense of combining and putting together, while the background “text” suggests repetition, symbolising the machine’s role in the design process.

Tools used: Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop and personalised model.

Using the broken typeface from one of the generated images, textured elements were combined to form the words “Design between Human and Machine.” Additional components were then integrated to create the final composition.

Tools used: Indesign, Photoshop and personalised model.

This experimental design employs vibrant colours and abstract forms. Although the typography is not easily readable, the design explores the interaction between bold, organic shapes, aiming to capture the abstract nature of AI-generated graphic images. The goal is to attract attention and provoke thought.

Tools used: Indesign, Photoshop and personalised model.
